Probably the best resort in the World!

Located on one of the world's most remote and beautiful beaches, with an athmosphere so relaxed that even the super famous chill out by the bar. This award winning hidden gem is a luxurious barefoot-chic, eco-luxury resort in Indonesia that takes hospitality, wellness and corporate social responsibility to the next level.

Norwegian business woman and Influencer Camilla Pihl visited Nihi and we asked her what she thinks about the place.
"We have been to some amazing places over the years but Nihi took our breath away! Morning walks alone on the longest beach I have ever seen, the wild horses, the incredible spa at Nikoka and the wonderful staff. The place just made me completely relaxed and I literally cried when I left."

So let us introduce you to Nihi Sumba, probably the best luxury resort in the world! (... and don't miss the special deal).

The best way to characterize Nihi Sumba might be that it is a hybrid between a luxury resort and an upscale safari lodge. Sumba is reached by taking a regional jet from Bali. After the one-hour flight you embark on a very exciting drive in open safari vehicles across the remote island of Sumba. When you reach the southern island coast and gaze over the resort and it's beach, you will gasp in awe, just like all other guests who have been here. Upon arrival you will be assigned a butler who will take care of any and every request.

The resort is located on “The Edge of Wildness”, away from crowded tourist destinations, in an area known for its excellent surfing, beautiful palm tree forests rich with wildlife, picturesque white sandy beaches, and pristine turquoise water. The estate comprises 550 wooded acres that slope gently down to the sea. Nihi Sumba’s long beach has to be one of the most wonderful beaches in the world - the colour mix of the azure blue sea, the yellow sand and the emerald green rice fields and the forest is purely amazing.

Nihi Sumba displays an admirable sense of social and environmental responsibility. The Sumba Foundation was set up in 2001 and the donations are used for eradicating malaria, digging wells for reliable clean drinking water, providing health care to about 25,000 people and equipping 16 primary schools with furniture and all necessary supplies.

The property is made up of 26 residences with one, two, three, four, and five-bedroom options available. The villas are beautifully designed with traditional Indonesian thatched roofs. Each villa has a private pool and an ocean view overlooking the resorts private surf break. They are individually decorated and furnished, offering all the amenities of a five-star resort, and so much more. Every detail in the rooms – crisp white bed linens on the signature canopy beds, handmade chocolate in the mini bar, sweeping panoramic views of the Indian Ocean – is designed to make you feel completely relaxed. The villas are so comfortable that some guests might find it hard to leave, to go and explore the hotel or the rest of Sumba. But if you decide to leave the room, you’ll find the beach, bar, restaurants and activity centre just a short stroll away.

The villas are grouped into eleven estates containing one to five villas each, making it perfect if you’re travelling in a group and want to be close together, but still have your own personal space. The one-bedroom villas are great for solo travellers, and couples travelling together should opt for the Marangga honeymoon-villas, families will be very comfortable in any of the spacious multi-room villas.

Room rates include all meals, mini bar, the Sumba Foundation tour, mountain biking, stand-up paddle boarding by the sea, snorkelling, group yoga, and meditation classes. With daily rates starting at 1300 USD per room you are getting great value for money compared with places like the Maldives or Bali. Right now you'll get the fantastic deal "Stay 7 nights pay for 5".

Breakfast and dinner are served at the main Ombak (“wave front”) restaurant. For breakfast, there is a choice of healthy options, eggs (fresh from the on-site chicken farm) and pastries. You can also have your choice of fresh squeezed juices based on your fruits and vegetable selection. All this enjoyed while overlooking the surf break.

For lunch, you’ll head to Nio Beach Club, to enjoy delicious food and cocktails with your feet in the sand, beneath thatched pavilions, at the water’s edge. Private in-villa dining is also available upon request. You can also enjoy sushi at the beachfront sushi bar Kaboku, the latest addition to the dining experience, serving Omakase-style Japanese food.

At night, Ombak serves up a mouth-watering
mix of Indonesian and international cuisine. The dining experience at Nihi Sumba Island is top notch, dining is available all day, and the options are delicious. Menus are crafted to recall local flavors and far flung tastes, using fresh produce from the on-site organic gardens. Local fish is caught and brought up daily to be prepared in a new way every night. The wine menu features a good choice of French, Australian and American wines. There are plenty of vegetarian options in all restaurants and Nihi's Chef also creates his own vegan menu.

Service at the restaurant and everywhere else in the resort is of the highest standard. They manage to strike the perfect balance between giving guests’ privacy, providing friendly and laid back service and meeting guests’ requests promptly and efficiently.

Although there are few places that are more perfectly suited to complete laziness, Nihi Sumba provides a wide range of activities. If you are looking for the most luxurious surfer’s paradise in the world you’ve definitely found it at Nihi Sumba Island. Other diversions include early-morning yoga and meditation, paddleboarding down the Wanukaka River, jet skiing, jungle hikes to waterfalls and lagoons, and deep-sea sportfishing. Nihi Sumba Island is also home to a professional equestrian center that offers sunset beach rides, mountain excursions, horse-manship, and riding lessons.

Nihi Sumba Island is the perfect eco-luxury escape for those looking for an uncrowded, pristine break, for couples looking for a romantic getaway, for families or friends looking to experience a wilderness adventure with all the luxuries of a five-star resort, or for anyone just wanting to get away from it all. Guests are very laid back and have left their designer clothes and high heels at home, casual is the way to go. Nihi Sumba is supremely relaxing and strangely timeless.

In short - top rated hotel in the world, this resort has it all.
